- An Initial Training Network ’SOPRANO’ (Spin and Orbital Physics : Research of Advanced New Oxides) has started on the 1st of October 2008, funded by the European FP7 Marie Curie program.

F. Rullier-Albenque offers a postdoctoral position in experimental condensed matter theory.

The research project concerns the experimental study of the new iron-based superconductors and will be more particularly focused on the study of their transport properties.

The Johns Hopkins Institute for Quantum Matter announces 2 postdoctoral
positions in condensed matter theory with specialization in quantum
magnetism and superconductivity.Starting date : fall 2009.
- Jérôme Cayssol et Alexandre Buzdin offer a postdoctoral position in condensed matter theory.

The research project is mainly focused on the theory of superconductivity and magnetism coexistence in heterostructures. The successful candidate will interact with A. Buzdin (Professor at Bordeaux University and senior member of the Institut Universitaire de France) and J. Cayssol (Assistant Professor at Bordeaux University), as well as experimental groups from Grenoble and Paris.

A postdoctoral position at the Laboratoire de Physiques de Solides at University of Paris-Sud (Orsay) will be available starting in the fall of 2009.
The applicant must have a doctorate in Physics (or equivalent degree) and is expected to work in the theoretical modeling and investigation of strongly correlated electron systems at oxydes interfaces, with special emphasis on the material SrTiO3.
The position is available for one year, with a possible extension. - A two-year post-doc position is open at the Physiscs Department of the
Univerisity "Federico II", Naples, Italy
The research activity will take place on an advanced experimental facility dedicated to the growth and the characterization of epitaxial oxide thin fims. The facility is a UHV multichamber system including a deposition chamber for RHEED-assisted pulsed laser deposition and analytical chambers for photoemission, electron
diffraction and scanning probe microscopy.
The successfull candidate will be a skilled young researcher with a well documented documented previous experience in materials science and possibly in epitaxial thin film growth. He/she will work on the growth of epitaxial thin films and multilayers of different manganites and on the development of manganite-based devices.
The positions will be assigned on the base of an official competition.
